Latex DVHB-70

Latex DVHB-70

Latex DVHB-70 is an aqueous dispersion of synthetic elastomer (vinylidene chloride and butadiene copolymer), completely resistant to alkaline saponification. Beige dispersion, turbid liquid without coagulum and mechanical impurities. A surface film is not considered a defect (the film is filtered out before use). Latex DVHB-70 is used in production of leather substitutes, for production of asbestos-cement mixtures, production of carpet products, production of shoe board and in other industries. It is used as a binder polymer to enhance performance of various materials: cement-containing materials in preparation of dry mixtures (asbestos-cement, plaster, concrete, etc.), latex-bitumen compositions (e.g. asphalt concrete mixtures), adhesives, sealants, paints, etc. Latex DVHB-70 provides water-repellent properties to building and other materials, and also prevents delamination and cracking. It has antistatic and fungicidal qualities (protects against the negative effects of mold fungi, as well as algae, has antimicrobial properties). It is used to improve mechanical characteristics (compression, bending, tension) of cement joints for plaster, screed etc. in an environment of negative and varying temperatures

Order
Application

It is used both for surface and bulk processing, DVHB-70 latex is forms an elastic film with high adhesion to fabrics, cellulose, leather and other materials:

in shipbuilding – in manufacture of hydrophobic putties, adhesives, the use of which is prescribed by the “Industry Limiter of the List of Adhesives in Shipbuilding”. Has fungicidal properties. The treated surfaces are not subject to fouling by microorganisms and algae.

in production of adhesives (glues, sealants, fungus resistant putties) – e.g. used for bonding paper or cardboard with metal foil.

in cardboard production – used to improve physical and mechanical properties of cardboard (strength, abrasion resistance, flexibility, oil and petrol resistance, acid-alkali resistance), where the polymer is used as the binder.

in artificial leather production – used as part of a latex composition for impregnating the textile base (fabric, knitwear, non-woven materials) and subsequent application of top and finishing latex coatings, in particular in manufacture of elastic leather and shoe three-layer tarpaulin.

in carpet production – used for finishing carpets as part of a latex composition with styrene. The composition, in addition to latex, includes the following components: fillers, thickeners, stabilizing additives, defoamers. Carpet finishing allows to increase the structural strength, elasticity, slip of these products, by fixing pile bunches on the bottom side of the carpet.

in construction – used at industrial, commercial and civil facilities, power plants, livestock complexes, land reclamation systems, etc. (foundations, floors, walls, roofing, sedimentation tanks, drains, etc., gluing tiles, exterior and interior finishing plaster, flooring, masonry repair, pouring new concrete over existing concrete, making concrete blocks, etc.). Prevents mortar cracking in the process of drying and use. Gives nominal elastic surface properties, antistatic, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Serves as a plasticizer, when applied, it improves mortar remoldability and work efficiency, especially plastering. It is also used to prime surfaces for painting with various types of paints to de-dust concrete surfaces and increase thermal conductivity and flexibility of structural joints of heated floors.

antistatic floors – latex compositions with a filler – a mixture of quartz sand, graphite and conductive fibers is used, for sparkless floors – non-sparking conductive polymer fillers are used.

Properties

  1. can be used for bulk or surface treatment;
  2. forms elastic film with high adhesion to building (metal, concrete, glass, etc.) and other materials;
  3. gives water-repellent properties to building and other materials;
  4. prevents cracking and delamination of materials,
  5. gives the surface elastic properties;
  6. antistatic properties;
  7. fungicidal properties (antimicrobial, protection against algae and molds);
  8. used to enhance the mechanical characteristics (compression, tension, bending) of cement mixtures for screed, plaster, etc. in conditions of temperature variations and negative temperatures.

After setting and final curing, cement mixtures modified with DVHB-70 Latex have:

  1. increased adhesion to all surfaces,
  2. higher flexural, compressive, tensile strength,
  3. abrasion resistance,
  4. become more water-impermeable,
  5. become resistant to frost/thaw cycles,
  6. working temperature range from -30 to +50°С,
  7. have high thermal conductivity, increased resistance to dilute acids and alkalis, salt solutions and oils.
